Katelynn is from Canton, CT, and received her B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 2025, where she conducted undergraduate research with Dr. Yongku Cho in protein engineering. She completed the NSF-REU program at the University of Florida in 2023 and the Amgen Scholars program at Caltech in 2024. After graduating, Katelynn interned at Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, where she worked on optimizing and automating protein characterization and analysis. At MIT, Katelynn is co-advised by Prof. Javit Drake and Prof. Fik Brushett. She works on the lithium-ion convection cell, investigating experimental approaches to fabricate electrodes, design and assemble cells, and analyze charge and discharge behavior.
