Sarah is originally from the UK, where she completed her BSc in Natural Sciences at the University of Bath, majoring in Physics with an emphasis on Materials Science. She moved to Germany in 2021 to do an MSc in Materials Science and Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, where her thesis in the Electrochemical Materials Laboratory of Prof. Jennifer Rupp was based on all-solid-state lithium metal batteries. She remained in the group and started her PhD in 2024, focusing on next-generation membranes for redox flow batteries and co-advised by Prof. Fikile Brushett at MIT. Her project and time at MIT are supported by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation. Outside of the lab, Sarah is a keen mountaineer who loves spending time in the Alps.
