Aida Farsi

Postdoctoral Associate
farsiaid@mit.edu

Aida earned her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Ontario Tech University, Canada, in 2020, where she worked with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories to design an optimized copper-chlorine electrolyzer for clean hydrogen production. She then began her postdoctoral research at the University of Toronto, initially working with Ayrton Energy company in Calgary, Canada, to develop electrochemical hydrogenation/dehydrogenation reactors using liquid organic hydrogen carriers. She later joined the CANSTOREnergy Canadian project, led by the University of Toronto, focusing on experimental two-phase transport behavior in CO2 electrolyzers through operando and ex-situ imaging and electrochemical characterization techniques. In the Brushett Research Group, Aida will work on electrochemical CO2 separation systems.
