Catalina graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico in 2020. During her undergraduate studies, she engaged in research on Microbial Fuel Cells, focusing on wastewater treatment using hydrolysis and acidogenesis processes while generating electricity. She later interned at a Search Fund where she explored new industries and developed projections for potential acquisitions. After she graduated, she started working at the Boston Consulting Group, where she was involved in strategy cases across a variety of industries and practice areas, including developing a product portfolio strategy for a consumer goods company and designing a pediatric mental health care facility. Currently, Catalina is an intern at NextEra Energy, where she is working on a thesis that explores battery augmentation from both chemical engineering and business perspectives, under the advisement of Professor Brushett.
