Hao Zhang entered Imperial College London for a Ph.D. on a full scholarship, where he graduated in 2022 with the Johnson Matthey Ph.D. Prize, focusing on the preparation of metal-organic framework-derived materials and their applications in heterogeneous catalysis. Before joining MIT, Hao was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry and a Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences (MPLS) Enterprise and Innovation Fellow at the University of Oxford, where his interests concern the controllable synthesis of 3d transition metal-based nanomaterials and the fundamental understanding of the correlation between micro/nanostructures and (photo)electrochemistry performance. His current research interests focus on the development of novel catalysts/electrodes/reactors for CO2 electrochemistry.
