Julia Sinisi earned both her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich. During her studies, she spent a research stay at Monash University in Australia, focusing on organic chemistry. Following her Master’s degree, she joined the group of Prof. David Cahen at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, where she worked on perovskite solar cells.
Julia is currently pursuing her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart. Her research focuses on solar batteries, an emerging technology that combines the functions of a solar cell and a battery within a single device. Her work lies at the intersection of (photo)electrochemistry, energy materials, and sustainable energy-storage technologies.
As a visiting student at MIT, Julia is collaborating with the Brushett Lab on the techno-economic assessment of solar-battery systems, exploring their potential for future renewable-energy applications.
