Postdoctoral Associate
ioannait@mit.edu
Ioanna was awarded her PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London (UK), in March 2025. During her PhD, Ioanna’s main focus was the investigation of nonmetal-functionalized nitride materials for CO2 photo(thermal) conversion, under the mentorship of Prof. Camille Petit. Prior to joining Imperial, Ioanna completed her MEng in Chemical Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), in 2020. As part of her MEng diploma thesis, Ioanna developed catalysts for the thermal oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane using CO2 as soft oxidant, under the supervision of Prof. Angeliki Lemonidou. In the Brushett Group, Ioanna will conduct research on porous electrodes decorated with high surface area metal, metal alloy, and metal sulfide catalysts for flow battery systems.
