Maedeh completed her PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Calgary, where her research focused on improving the performance and durability of vanadium redox flow batteries for large-scale renewable energy storage. During her time at the University of Calgary, she also contributed to research on nanomaterials and electrochemical systems, gaining a strong foundation in battery science, materials characterization, and electrochemical analysis.
She then expanded her industry experience at Genoptic LED Inc., where she led projects on scaling lithium-ion battery and supercapacitor fabrication techniques and developing advanced electrode materials. Following this, Maedeh joined SAIT as a Senior Electrochemical Scientist and Project Manager at SAIT, she supervised laboratory teams, managed collaborative R&D and proposal programs, and worked with industry partners to move new technologies toward commercialization.
In the Brushett Research Group at MIT, Maedeh will work on the development of Electrochemical Rechargeable Liquids (ERLs) and new battery chemistries designed for sustainable and scalable energy storage.
