Graduate Student, ChemE
tgoodwin@mit.edu

Tom is from Sturbridge, MA and attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he received a B.S. in chemical engineering. During his undergraduate years he studied under Prof. Jessica Schiffman, working on improving antifouling properties of membranes for water purification. He also worked in Prof. Todd Emrick’s group, managing gel-permeation chromatography (GPC) systems. At MIT, Tom is co-advised by Prof. Fik Brushett and Prof. Zach Smith, where he researches membranes for redox flow battery separators. Outside of research, Tom loves to play basketball and soccer, go skiing, and explore new hiking trails.
